Customs Services in Action at TIC 2009
“Customs Services in Action” is the theme selected by the Customs and Excise Division for its participation in the 2009 Trade and Investment Convention which takes place at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya from 24th to 27th June 2009. This follows on last year’s theme on modernising customs as the Division seeks to provide timely, quality service to its customers.
One of the ways in which the Customs and Excise Division is improving its service is through the implementation of Project ASYCUDA World – the latest version of the automated systems for customs data. This application provides the Customs and Excise Division with the technical capability to offer secure, real-time service to its various stakeholders. Since ASYCUDA World is web-based, it facilitates easier access to customs services online. The country roll-out of the project is expected in September 2009.
In his message for the TIC 2009, the Comptroller of Customs and Excise congratulated the TTMA and its membership on this the 10th Anniversary of the Trade and Investment Convention, and re-affirmed the Division’s commitment to the creation of a friendly trade and investment climate in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Customs and Excise Division is located at Booth#14 at the Convention.
